Week 15 Dokkum, again!
Written on the laptop in Dokkum for Easter...
Totally relaxing... (all three of us looked like this...)
The real difference this time was the Auditor himself. He was pretty switched on and a likeable person to boot - not at all like the mean-spirited person who did the last one.
Anyway, Janny was mightily relieved and did a few jigs and whoops during the trip to Dokkum on the boat. It had clearly been troubling her beforehand.
We all did a bit of cleaning and tidying up during the week and on the day of the inspection the workers were all busy in the vegie garden...
I finished off the last project for the Screen Printing Enterprise - a storage cupboard for the frames...
Just on "Peter"...he has been Peter to me for all the years - but we now have a Pieter as well...and it seems that I have been saying it wrong all the time (but without complaint or correction).
Peter is actually pronounced Payter and Pieter is pronounced Peter - so I now have to make the distinction. Pieter is over 50 and had been cared for at home by his parents and latterly his aunt and uncle. They have only recently discovered the Social care and support system that is available to them - and him. Ours is his first Care Farm and he just loves it! Which makes it all the more worthwhile for us...
Sittin' on the dock of the bay...
Pit Stop for Boeke...
The turn off to Dokkum...
In Dokkum ( 6.5 hour trip), we opted for the side with the view of the windmills and close to the shower facilities...We had noticed along the way that there lots of campers already out and about... "The Grey Plague", no doubt...
BUT, this shower block was still locked - must be too early in the season...so we shifted to our "normal" spot - under the windmill and about 100m from the modern (and heated) shower block.
This boat is almost totally black ... with the name Zwart
When the Czech family left, we moved Jacoba back into their spot - nobody can walk past and the ground is flat enough for the table and chairs - which we used on Saturday afternoon when it got warm enough to sit outside.
I also had to clean off the Sahara sands from about 4 weeks ago - the rain hadn't washed it off.
My hearing aids have been quite successful - not necessarily for my hearing - my poor hearing was more a problem for other people. But, I chose the bluetooth version and can now listen to my audio books almost continuously. I have "read" 7 books over the last 3 weeks - mostly whilst walking but also a fair bit when I'm working pottering. Fairly light stuff by M.J.Trow, but I did find the audio versions of a couple of Yuri Herrera books - next on my list.
This morning on the BBC, I heard the term "fuel poverty" relating to people in the UK. I think I'm escaping more to my books to avoid the crappy stuff in the world right now...
Now, having said that, I made a deliberate attempt yesterday to actually sit and read a real book - I'm finishing off brother Leigh's book "Where Gods Dwell". I was half way through it last year when it "disappeared" amongst a pile of Janny's books.
Sunday Morning early take-Boeke-for-a-walk photos....
Paint job looks good. Enjoy the good weather.
